The AEX Combine in Mobile, Alabama on Saturday March 7, 2026 gave many young players a chance to compete and show their skills. One player who caught attention was Class of 2029 wide receiver LaDouglass Jones Jr. from Mobile Christian School.

Jones Jr. is still early in his high school career. He will be an upcoming sophomore during the 2026 football season. Even at a young age, he stood out during the combine. He currently measures 5 feet 8.5 inches and weighs 140 pounds. His frame shows that he still has plenty of room to grow and develop over the next few years.

One of the measurable numbers that stood out was his 4.74 second forty yard dash. For a young receiver who has not reached his full physical growth yet, this is a very solid time. With strength training and natural development, Jones Jr. has the potential to become a player who can run in the 4.4 range, in the future. During position drills, Jones Jr. showed good technique and natural receiver ability. His routes looked smooth and controlled. He tracked the ball well when it was in the air and showed the ability to catch the ball away from his body. Those are strong traits for a young receiver.

Another thing that stood out was his quickness. Jones Jr. moves well and can change direction quickly. His footwork and body control allow him to separate from defenders and create space. Camp coaches also took notice of his performance. As an underclassman, he already looks like a player who could develop into a future candidate for the AEX All American Game, with continued growth.

There is still a lot of time for Jones Jr. to develop as a player. He will gain strength, speed, and experience as he moves through high school football. However, the early signs are very encouraging.

LaDouglass Jones Jr. is now a player that will remain on the radar for Water Cooler Talk Sports as a young prospect to watch in the coming years.
