Auburn continues to reshape its quarterback room through the transfer portal, adding another intriguing piece to its 2026 class.
Former four-star quarterback Tristan Ti’a has officially signed with the Auburn Tigers, transferring in from the Oregon State Beavers.
Ti’a originally signed with Oregon State as a member of the 2025 recruiting class out of Amador Valley High School in California. Standing at 6’2”, 205 pounds, he was regarded as one of the top quarterback prospects on the West Coast and entered college with a reputation as a true dual-threat signal caller.
During his senior season in high school, Ti’a put together an impressive résumé, throwing for 3,452 yards and 29 touchdowns while completing just under 77% of his passes. He also protected the football at an elite level, finishing the season with only four interceptions. His combination of accuracy, poise, and mobility made him a coveted prospect during the recruiting cycle.
Ti’a committed to Oregon State to play for head coach Trent Bray, but the situation in Corvallis quickly changed. After the Beavers opened the 2025 season with an 0–7 record, Bray was dismissed in October, creating uncertainty within the program.
As a true freshman, Ti’a appeared in three games and earned his first collegiate start in the season finale against the Washington State Cougars. In limited action, he completed nearly 70% of his passes for 385 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. He showed flashes of the talent that made him a four star recruit.
Now at Auburn, Ti’a enters a quarterback room that is young but increasingly competitive. Locklan Hewlett, a former USF quarterback, and Rhys Brush, a member of Auburn’s 2026 signing class, are both developing options who project as future contributors. Ti’a arrives with four years of eligibility remaining and will be firmly in the mix as Auburn looks ahead to the 2027 season.
In the short term, Ti’a is expected to compete for the QB2 role behind Byrum Brown, who officially committed to Auburn on January 6, 2026. Long term, his skill set gives Auburn another high upside option as the program continues to build depth, competition, and stability at the quarterback position.
With Ti’a’s addition, Auburn’s transfer class continues to reflect a clear emphasis on talent accumulation and long term roster flexibility, particularly at the most important position on the field.
